Excellent for distance learning.

They write one page for the side they claim, and 1/2 page to consider the other side.

Example: Option A: You can choose to claim that John F. Kennedy was, or was not a great President. In that case, the shorter writing task is the ½ page about challenges he faced. OR Option B: You can claim that John F. Kennedy was not a great President. Then the shorter (½ page) task is about his accomplishments, and the longer page for his shortcomings/challenges.

Students must include these elements, either way: Vietnam, the Space Race, Cuban Missile Crisis, Donated his salary to charity, Served in the Navy in WW2, Bay of Pigs, Cold War, “New Frontier”, Equal Pay, and more elements. Watch the Hauger History Podcast Episode 113 if you want to see or project the instructions for students.
