In this 5 page 1920's activity, students will read a basic overview of the Scopes "Monkey" Trial, read arguments of the prosecution and defense, examine political cartoons from the period and listen to a SONG! Students will then use the information (primary source excerpts of Darrow and Bryan are included) in the packet to answer critical thinking questions about the event.

 Also included are the directions for an OPTIONAL EXTENSION assignment using the internet. Great front-loading or review assignment…could be used as classwork or homework.
