Description

This is a 50+ page resource that contains 4 different Vocabulary Activities on the topic of U.S. Imperialism- perfect as a Preview OR Review to your Imperialism unit in United States History. You can use all the activities or just the ones that fit your needs! Mix and Match!

Activities Included:

1) Sort & Categorize- Your students will examine each key term card provided (editable) and discuss in small groups the meaning of the terms/significance/ prior knowledge. They then sort the key terms into categories based on what they know about the words and share out. This activity is a great PREVIEW to a unit or as a REVIEW to see what they have learned.

2) Matching- Students will match each key term card to its correct definition card. Can be done individually or in small groups. A great REVIEW activity before the test. Complete as a timed activity for added fun!

3) Comparing Terms- Students will work in small groups or individually to determine the relationship between 3 assigned key terms on a handout provided. It forces them to think critically about the terms and how they related to each other and the unit as a whole. Great for PREVIEW or REVIEW.

4) Concept Tables- Students will be given a set of key terms and words that describe the term on a handout provided. Some of the descriptors are correct and some are not. Students will use markers or colored pencils to shade in the descriptors that do not belong. Great for REVIEW!
