Description
Want your students to have a better understanding of the organization of a hospital and what the functions are for each department? I created this game with that in mind. Students will work in teams to create their own hospital only including departments they think will meet the needs of their community. Once the most popular patient types are revealed, they will see how their hospital performed!
This is a fun activity that I have been doing for years and my students love it!
*Update: product now includes a Google Slides "drag and drop" option. Full video instructions and Google Slides link included as an additional option to the printable version!

Fun way to learn!
I have always struggled with this part of the curriculum. It is typically early in the semester... this lesson was fantastic to get the students collaborating and discussing their "hospital" design. The final reveal of the patients was such a great activity. I added a mini reflection activity as an exit ticket and it was a perfect lesson plan. Wish I had been observed by admin this day :)

Health Science
This was an amazing activity for students. In the absence of selecting clinical rotation sites due to COVID-19 for second year students, it was a great discussion starter and overview of the hospital system to introduce students to the hospital structure and apply their knowledge to patient situations. Even an EdTech novice could figure out how to use it!! Five stars for sure!!
