Description
US History EOC review doesn't have to be worksheets! This hands-on review has students sorting key images into key eras of US History. Perfect for US History EOC/STAAR review for 11th grade.
Get your students discussing each era with this picture sort.
How does it work?
- There are 2 EDITABLE versions included. Version 1 = no labels. I use this with 95% of my students. Version 2 has labels for most images (except for ones that already have a title). I use this one with my struggling learners.
- Pick the version you want to use and copy one set per group of students. I usually do groups of 3 or 4 for this activity.
- Cut the images up (get help from NHS or student council students who need volunteer hours) and place in a baggie. One baggie per group.
- Students pull out the title cards first (era names), then sort the 6 images under that era.
- Helpful hint: Copy each group set off on a different color of card stock. If a student drops a card, you can quickly put it back in the correct bag.
What is included:
- Everything is EDITABLE in PowerPoint. Swap out an image or rename anything you might need to!
- 2 versions of the activity (one with labels, one without)
- Optional formative assessment: students work either individually or in groups to write a summary of an era using the images.
