US History Eras Card Sort Mystery Bag Activity 1492-1877

Make reviewing the eras of early American history fun and engaging with this eras card sort group activity! This cooperative learning activity includes 20 pages of cards and worksheets and covers exploration through the end of Reconstruction in U.S. History. Get a "mystery bag" (brown lunch bag, gift bag, etc.) and have students draw cards and match it to the correct era. Deepen their learning by having them document on a worksheet HOW they know it matches that era. At the end of the activity, students will work as a group to summarize each era.
