Description
To supplement your American history tests or final exam, students analyze 12 maps and 51 images covering 20 topics/units. There are 3-7 questions for each set of maps and 5 prompts for the images. The images are a mix of photos and political cartoons. This would even be great for and end of year or EOC review, or if you have a sub! The images are spaced in a way that you can cut them out for students to mix and match to create a visual timeline, or even to give students just a few to work with at a time. The answers are included where appropriate.
Sample map questions include:
--Write 1, 2, and 3 next to each map to identify the order the events represented happened. Which countries were involved in the event represented on each map?
--How did events of the 1850s lead to the map on the left? What was the effect of the map on the right on life in America from 1865 through the 1870s?
--List and provide a historical significance for 4 individuals who played a significant role in the Mexican-American War. Explain the relationship between Manifest Destiny and the Mexican-American War.
--If any of these events had turned out differently, would the Cold War as a whole have had a different outcome? Explain your thought process fully. Write a one sentence caption for each map demonstrating an understanding of the map in its historical context.
