Description

Are you looking for a US History timeline activity?  This is a US History timeline activity for students to review a huge amount of history (focuses on Reconstruction to the present) in a short amount of time. If you are looking for the early American history version of this activity, see look in my store here on Amped Up Learning. This is great for a review prior to any end of course exam, like STAAR. This activity allows students to practice that difficult skill of sequencing in a hands-on way!

In this purchase, there are 8 "mini-timelines" in this product (8 events each - you cut them out) that students (in small groups) race to put in order. Students really have to critically think, since sometimes, the events are not related! For example, in one timeline you might find a battle, a court case and an important document.

After students compete to finish the timelines (groups racing each other to finished the fastest), you can extend this into a whole class HUGE time and challenge them to put all of them in order!

The early US History version of this activity is one of my top sellers in my store!

What is included:

-8 mini-timelines (8 events each timeline – focusing on 1877 to present) = 64 pieces total (2 versions of the timelines – one large and one small (if you need to save paper)– your choice- both are included)

-Each timeline has a different border, for easy use. I suggest you print off each mini-timeline with a different color of paper if you can (and laminate if possible)

-Instructions for the class competition and for a large class timeline if you choose to "challenge" your students further = optional.

-Key for all timelines

This is a print it out, cut it out and go activity for you. If you can laminate it, it will last longer.
