Description

These 3 Veterans Day activities (6 question webquest, 4 reflection questions, and 2 creative tasks) will give students a basic understanding of the history of Veterans Day and will let them explore their own feelings on the holiday. Two websites are provided for students to access the information for the 6 webquest questions, answers are included where appropriate, and the reflection and creative parts would be great for a sub!

 Sample questions include:
--Describe the transition of the holiday from Armistice Day to Veterans Day.
--Why did President Ford sign a law permanently putting the observation of Veterans Day on November 11 each year?
--What are 2 other questions you would ask someone in the military, and why?
--Why do you think it took until World War 1 for such a day to be observed? How might a veteran of the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War, and Spanish-American War feel about it?

The creative tasks involve an advertisement and a memorial, each with an academic component (all expectations detailed in the instructions).
