World Geography – Icebreaker Worksheet

This is a quick activity that is great for the beginning of a geography unit and for assessing student’s prior knowledge of the world

• Students are given various tasks, such as identifying the continents, different world cities, countries, etc.
• There are a few ways this worksheet can be completed. Students can work in groups, use the internet or a textbook to complete the different tasks
• To make this a fun competition, students can tally up their final score towards the end of the class period and place their “score” in the space provided at the bottom
• A Key with examples is included, but note that there are many more correct answers than what is shown on the key
• The worksheet has a digital version as well. Students can use apps such as Lumin PDF or Dochub to complete and submit the fillable PDF file on a laptop or iPad
