Description
This WW2 (WWII) writing activity review asks students to take on the role of news reporter during the war and write a cumulative RAFT. Allowing for suspension of disbelief, the student is moved from unit to unit and must report on Pearl Harbor, the Pacific Front, D-Day, the liberation of a concentration camp, V-E Day, the dropping of the atomic bomb from the Enola Gay, and more!
There are specific questions and items for each topic students must address such as the difference in mentality and actions between Japanese and American soldiers, the goals of storming Normandy and why D-Day didn't happen sooner, how Hitler carried out the Holocaust and how some Jews were able to survive, and what was witnessed from the windows of the Enola Gay.
The rubric is included but the point values are blank to allow for your specific grading system.
