Description
Students analyze 18 documents, answer 15 historical context questions (a few documents are included in one question), complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the home front of WW2 (WWII). There are 8 essay prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***
Sample questions include:
--Explain the “drastic change” needed in the army according to Document 1.
--Summarize the historical context of Document 4.
--Summarize the main point of Document 7 and the role it played in the war effort.
--What purpose do you think the reference to Jim Crow laws serves in Document 13
--Identify a similarity and a difference between each of the propaganda posters in Documents 14-17.
