Description

As a beginning lesson for pre-algebra students, this no-prep lesson teaches students the meaning of crucial vocabulary such as product, less, double, difference, sum, ratio, etc., in writing algebraic expressions. Students will categorize terms into columns to sort for different operations, drag and drop algebraic expressions next to their written versions, type in expressions to match a written expression, and complete increasingly more difficult problems. The final written expression will create a special challenge for your students after completing all of the slides.

Product includes a printable foldable for the interactive notebook, and a printable worksheet to follow the digital lesson.

Teacher Key and Video Instructions included also.

Standards:

  • CCSS.6.EE.A.2
  • CCSS.6.EE.A.2a

 Lesson Highlights:

* Drag and Drop mathematical terms into the correct "operation" column.

* Drag and Drop numerical expressions next to their equivalent expressions in word form.

* "Type" the correct numerical expression next its expression in word form.

* Try a super challenge problem.

* Cut out and construct the foldable.

* Complete the worksheet to follow the digital lesson.
