Description

► What can I use this product for?

The “VIBES” Self-Awareness Curriculum is a 25-lesson program that focuses on the social-emotional well-being of students and is aligned with 26 out of 30 ‘Mindsets & Behaviors’ put forth by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). These standards are research-based and best practices for student success.

"VIBES" stands for "Values", "Insights", "Behaviors", "Emotions", and "Social Skills". Each area encompasses 5 lessons for a total of 25 lessons. These lessons teach students that their "VIBES" speak louder than words!

The curriculum is taught using Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory. This learning theory combines a 4-stage learning process that provides a powerful foundation for learning. According to Kolb, learners must change or transform their experience into knowledge in order to learn, instead of watching and memorizing. The 4-stage process of Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory involves feelingwatchingthinking, and doing.

Each lesson in the curriculum is implemented as follows:

Step 1: Students will take notes on the PPT presentation (feeling)

Step 2: Students will watch the video (watching)

Step 3: Students will do an independent reflection in their workbook (thinking)

Step 4: Students will do a hands-on activity (doing)
