Description
This is a breakout activity. Other materials are required for this activity such as:
Locks, boxes, black light flashlights, red lens decoders.
Students will work together in groups to unlock a series of boxes. In order to unlock these boxes, they must use their knowledge of geometry. (mostly area)
This assignment has the following skills practice:
1. Triangle Inequality Theorem
- Does it make a triangle?
- Range of the third side given 2 side lengths
- Ordering sides when given angles
- Ordering angles when given sides
- Finding the area of triangles, parallelograms, rectangles, and trapezoids
- Finding the volume of a rectangular prism
- Finding a length or height given the area
- Supplementary and Complimentary angles
