You’re not teaching the novel? This product can also be used as a stand-alone set for vocabulary building!

We recommend that you print these cards on 6 sheets of cardstock, which you can then cut apart and laminate for a strong, long lasting, resource. When you print double sided from the templates, four key words, along with sample sentences using each word as examples, will be on the front of the sheet, and the parts of speech and definitions will appear on the reverse side aligned with the correct word.

Additionally, we have grouped the words on the sheets by parts of speech. You will find that all of the words on sheet 1 are adjectives; the words on sheets 2 and 3 are nouns; and, those on sheets 4, 5 and 6 are verbs. This way, if you want to color code by parts of speech, you can use different color paper or card stock. Instant Colorful Word Wall!

The key words in this set are primarily from chapters 1 – 3 of Lind Sue Park’s A Long Walk to Water. They are also aligned to the “Study Guide and Student Workbook to Accompany A Long Walk to Water”, which is also offered by ELA in Middle School. That said, this product can also be used as a stand-alone set for vocabulary building!
