Description

Students analyze 17 documents (5 are images), answer 17 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review the reform movements and efforts of the Antebellum Era. There are 14 prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***

Sample questions include:
--Identify what Finney is referencing and explain how it connects to the historical context.
--On what grounds does Document 3 demand suffrage, and why might that point of view have been taken?
--Explain the meaning of Document 8 and identify which political party at the time would have supported it.
--Identify and explain how document 10 reflects two reform movements.
--Rewrite Document 11 in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Which side of abolition is Document 16 on and what is his ultimate stance?
