Description
One of the main themes of any United States History or Government class is how the ideas fundamental to this country's constitutional democracy can be traced to three influential documents: the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights, and the Mayflower Compact.
This bundled resource includes a PowerPoint that highlights the main ideas behind the three documents. A graphic organizer, used in conjunction with the PowerPoint, assists students in identifying the main themes behind each document and how they influenced the Constitution. The PowerPoint is saved using a 97-2003 format and includes highlighted vocabulary words and custom animation.
This resource also includes a graphic organizer that divides excerpts from both the Magna Carta and the English Bill of Rights into sections that students can then paraphrase, either individually or in groups. Doing so makes the speech more accessible to all learners.
Finally, the bundle includes a series of questions based on both the Magna Carta and the English Bill of Rights. The questions, which progress in complexity, also establish connections with specific amendments in the US Bill of Rights.
Answer keys for both the graphic organizer and the document-based questions are provided.
For those seeking distance learning options, the graphic organizer and questions can easily be converted to digital activities using Google Slides.
