Description
Welcome! This listing features a full-page test about chemical reactions. I proctor this test to my eighth grade physical science students, but it could be utilized in a high school physical science class or as a remedial resource in chemistry for teachers who differentiate their curriculum to meet the needs of students who struggle to learn.
-
In Part I, students will balance eleven chemical reactions with coefficients. They will also classify each equation as a synthesis, decomposition, combustion, or replacement reaction.
-
In Part II, students will answer five quantitative questions from the reactions in Part I relating to coefficients, subscripts, and the atoms involved.
-
In Part III, students will identify whether the twelve stated changes are physical or chemical.
-
Part IV features a crossword puzzle that covers the key terminology relating to reaction types and the rate of reaction - concentration, exothermic, inhibitor, temperature, surface area, catalyst, endothermic, and activation energy. I included a word bank with a surplus of terms.
The test also includes two additional accommodations for struggling students in the form of legends - one that outlines the blueprint for each classification of reaction and the other a four-step guideline for balancing reactions.
This PDF document will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word with an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Program. It includes a key with the answers in bold, red font.
I appreciate your interest. I offer dozens of quality field-tested, innovative, practical, and user-friendly products for several fields of science - biology, chemistry, field ecology, physical science, earth science, space science and human anatomy and physiology.
