Description

Students will read and analyze two points of view on conservation and preservation (Pinchot and Muir) as related to Hetch Hetchy Valley by answering 26 questions and completing a creative task. They will also analyze 3 images according to provided prompts. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
--What is the purpose of Muir’s first paragraph?
--Would it be out of the ordinary to keep Hetch Hetchy as is, why or why not?
--Write a contextually appropriate synonym, or definition, for “shorn.”
--Explain the meaning of the reference to “temple destroyers.”
--What does Pinchot immediately put a premium on and why?
--On what condition would Pinchot likely agree with leaving Hetch Hetchy as is?
