Description
This fun, educational, and engaging activity is for students taking Biology or a related course. Students will decode the letters to complete the two-page summary statement about the ATP-ADP cycle in the cells of consumers.
A cryptogram is a puzzle where each letter has an assigned number. There is a letter–number assignment table on both activity pages for students to keep track of the coding process. The puzzle grid layout in the thumbnail preview provides the depth of the challenge students will love at the secondary level.
The message covers the formation and utilization of ATP in animal, fungi, protozoa, and heterotrophic bacterial cells. Key terms covered include heterotrophs, cellular respiration, fermentation, adenosine di- and triphosphate, eukaryotes, mitochondria, ATP synthase, oxidative phosphorylation, ATP catalase, sarcomere contraction, and action potential. This activity sheet will serve as an additional study guide upon completion. This task also makes for an ideal lesson plan for a substitute teacher.
