Description

This fun, educational, and engaging activity is for students taking Biology or a related course. Students will decode the letters to complete the two-page summary statement about the ATP-ADP cycle in plant and algae cells.

A cryptogram is a puzzle where each letter has an assigned number. There is a letter–number assignment table on both activity pages for students to keep track of the coding process. The puzzle grid layout in the thumbnail preview provides the depth of the challenge students will love at the secondary level.

The message covers the formation and utilization of ATP in cells of photosynthetic organisms. Key terms covered include photosynthesis, adenosine di- and triphosphate, thylakoid membrane, chloroplast, ATP synthase, photophosphorylation, chemiosmosis, energy, Calvin cycle, ATP catalase, and glucose. This activity sheet will serve as an additional study guide upon completion. This task also makes for an ideal lesson plan for a substitute teacher.
