Enzymes of Digestion and Cellular Respiration Summary Table

This full-page activity features two large tables designed to help students learn the anatomical locations and the functions of the integral enzymes of metabolism – more specifically digestion and cellular respiration. The highlighted enzymes in this activity include pepsin, trypsin, nicotine adenine dinucleotide (NAD+), maltase, lactase, salivary amylase, flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD), sucrase, peptidase, lipase, and coenzyme A. The first table offers students the opportunity to identify and write the location and function of the digestive enzymes. The backside table is the home base for the cytosol and mitochondrial enzymes of cellular respiration.

Each table has orange dividers that separate the enzymes by location. For example, enzymes of the stomach are grouped, as are the catalysts of the duodenum. I provided an anatomical location word bank and an enzyme function description bank on a separate page as an optional accommodation. This activity comes with a full-page key with the answers in bold, red font.
