These 40+ resources introduce the Age of Exploration and the Colonization of North America. There are 2 versions of the exploration PowerPoint (one has built in activities) which covers the motives and means for exploration, the discovery of the New World, the effects of exploration, the Columbian Exchange, the origins of the slave trade, an introduction to mercantilism, and more!
There are 2 versions of the colonization presentation, one with an overview of Spanish, French, and British colonization of North America and the other focused on Great Britain. Topics include the reasons for colonization, interactions with Native Americans, slavery, increasing tension between the colonists and Great Britain, and more!
The activities include a one pager, timeline stations, a map, a DBQ, a review game, multiple primary source resources, a Columbus webquest, a vocabulary mix and match, trading cards and a cube project, a pamphlet review, a gallery walk, 3 types of timelines, a test, and more!
Many of these resources would work with a sub! The answers, teacher information, templates, and point distributions are included where appropriate.
