Who is this bundled printable and digital literacy pack for?

✅This bundled literacy pack was created with kindergarten and first grade students in mind.

What skills will students focus on while interacting with this resource?

✅Comprehension-Students will read spring-themed passages. These passages include a combination of high frequency words from Dolch and Fry's Lists. After reading, they will answer multiple choice and short answer questions using the drawing tool. In another activity, students will complete cloze sentences by filling in the missing CVC or CVCe words.

✅Fluency-Students will read each comprehension passage three times. Each time they read the passage, they will slide a butterfly into the net! The repeated readings help improve fluency. Cut and paste activities are included with the printables.

✅Phonics-Students will practice reading CVC and CVCe words. Using pictures and their partially written corresponding words, they will determine if the word needs a magic e at the end. If needed, they will then slide a magic e marker to make the word complete. In another drag and drop activity, students sort words by their short or long vowel/magic e patterns. Finally, students will create their own color code as they label CVC and CVCe words. They will use the drawing tool for this activity. Cut and paste activiteis are included with the printables.

*Vowels included: short vowel a, i, o, and u. Long vowel patterns included: a_e, o_e, i_e, and u_e.

✅Writing-All of the activities involve a written response from students. Using the pen tool, students supply short answers in the comprehension and cloze sentence activities. For the sorting and sentence writing activities, they will use the keyboard to write the missing words. Sentence writing skills are also practiced, as students write a sentence about one of the CVC or CVCe words they are focusing on.
