Description
January Focus- Letter Sounds and Recognition- j, z, w, v, and a review of the letter sounds from fall term. Concepts of print and Author focus: Robert Munsch. In numeracy; hierarchal inclusion, 5 and 10 frames. Science learning includes Inquiry of animals, animal tracks, hibernation, winter adaptations and Jan Brett's "The Mitten." STEAM includes symmetry challenge, building a den, making blubber and animal tracks. January is all about New Years and inquiry activities. Be a detective and track prints in the snow! Learn digraphs and practice reading words that are comprised of the letter sounds that were covered.
