Description

Students will learn about collaborators, perpetrators, and bystanders during the Holocaust with these 3 webquests. There are 44 questions across the three sections and a culminating discussion/reflection question. The answers are included where appropriate and the website is USHMM.

Sample questions include:
--Why did many Germans claim to have been a bystander during the Holocaust?
--Explain how one could have been a bystander to the Holocaust before the concentration camps were even built.
--Write 3 examples of how someone in Germany could have been involved despite their post-war claims of having been a bystander.
--Summarize why some people in Axis controlled countries were seemingly ready, able, and willing, to become collaborators.
--How did the type of collaboration committed by Latvians, Ukrainians, and Lithuanians compare to what you have read so far?
--Identify one of Himmler’s key roles in the Holocaust.
--Where could the line be drawn between someone being considered a collaborator or a perpetrator and why?
