Description

Over 40 printable pages of cards and activities to help students develop the phonemic awareness skills necessary to become strong readers. This card pack is divided into 3 main parts, so you may begin with the level of support your children need. All pictures are of words containing an initial consonant blend (p-lane, s-wing, for example). Students are guided through blending the initial sound, segmenting the initial sound, and then deleting it.

Included in this pack:
  • 20 word pairs (40 picture cards) to practice initial sound blending
  • 20 picture cards with sound boxes & letter cues to practice segmenting the initial sound
  • 20 pictures cards with BLANK sound boxes to practice segmenting the initial sound WITHOUT letter cues
  • 20 picture cards with initial sound deletion prompts with 20 picture cards for the corresponding answers
  • Directions pages for the cards
  • Bonus Tic Tac Toe game for fun, collaborative review
  • Bonus wordlist for individual assessment

Perfect for one on one tutoring, small group lessons, or homeschooling. This skill set meets first grade targets for phonemic awareness, but you may use them in older grades for Intervention, Special Education, or with English Language Learners.
