This product is a Google form and doc linked to an interactive image of a political cartoon from the French Revolution. France was a divided society on the eve of the French Revolution. Each person in the country belonged to one of three social classes, or estates: The First Estate, the Second Estate, and the Third Estate. In this political cartoon representing the Three Estates, an angry member of the Third Estate begins to throw off the chains of taxes and restrictions, while a nobleman, representing the Second Estate, and a priest, representing the First Estate, recoil in surprise and fear
Students can answer the 9 questions on the form while exploring and analyzing the interactive image. Then they can complete the 7 short answer questions on the doc. Students will be asked to interpret, analyze interactions, cite evidence, compare and contrast, and summarize. This activity has worked very well in pairs using two devices. Students can explore and discuss as they explore the image. This is an enrichment activity.
