Description
This product places telling the time in context of real-life scenarios. It builds on the skills of students being able to tell the time using an analogue clock and a 24 hour clock face and finding the duration between start and end times of various activities.
Each problem contains a range of skills:
1) Telling the time using an analogue clock face or 24 hour clock face
2) Recording the time in digital form, or words (teacher preference)
3) Solving the duration from the start time to the end time of the activity
4) Working out the duration in total minutes
5) Converting total minutes into hours and minutes
6) Drawing clock hands onto clock faces to represent given digital times (12 hour and 24 hour)
There are 24 problems in total to solve, and each page develops the complexity of the questions:
1) Duration of minutes within the same hour
2) Duration of minutes crossing one hour
3) Duration of minutes crossing more than one hour
4) Reading 24 hour clock
5) Drawing clock hands onto clock faces to represent given times (12 hour and 24 hour)
Our students loved these problems as it allowed them to really understand how to work out durations by viewing two clock faces for each problem, counting up to the hour, then from the hour to the next hour, then the additional minutes of the final hour. It made a lot of sense to them, and supported the continual development in the area of time.
