Description

Math fun with unique holidays!

Add a little fun to your multiplication and division lessons by having your students complete these 6 worksheets. Great for homework assignments and partner work.

Your students will enjoy solving multiplication and division problems while learning about some unique, unofficial holidays that people celebrate throughout the year. They will also learn about some important historical events and happenings in our world today that people recognize.

  • For each question, students solve the math problem and find the answer on one of the two calendar pages.
  • The answer will be located on the date when people celebrate that holiday.
  • Each problem (holiday) contains a fun fact, ways to celebrate, the history of the day recognized, or a “did you know” question for students to read before they solve the math problem.

NOTE: The holidays included in this product are the same holidays included in my National Days Addition and Subtraction of Fractions and Mixed Numbers product.

Included: (All materials come in color and black/white.)

  • 6 total worksheets
  • 2 calendar pages (Jan - Dec)
  • Answer keys (The answer keys show the steps to the problems.)

A copy of the calendar pages must be used with the following four worksheets.

  • This is a fun day to celebrate with other people because it gives you a chance to do things over and over again. This is a fun day to celebrate with other people because it gives you a chance to do things over and over again. GET THE IDEA? GET THE IDEA?
  • HOW TO CELEBRATE: Do some of your favorite things more than one time. • Repeat everything you say 2 times. • Have 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, or 2 snacks. • Repeat something someone says to you. • Send the same test message to the same friend more than one time. HAVE FUN! HAVE FUN!

2) Celebrate National Pizza Day ________________. Students solve the math problem and find the answer on the February calendar - February 9.

  • FUN FACT: In 2001, Pizza Hut delivered a six-inch pizza to space. It cost the company about one million dollars to send a pizza in a Russian rocket to the International Space Station. Russian cosmonaut, Yuri Usachov, was the lucky one to receive the pizza. Hopefully, he gave them a nice tip!
  • HOW TO CELEBRATE: Of course, the only way to celebrate this day is to eat a pizza with your favorite toppings.

Students do not use the calendar pages for the following two worksheets.
