Napoleon Stations Activity

Students will learn about the rise, time in power, and fall of Napoleon Bonaparte by reading 4 pages on his background and rise to power, domestic items, foreign items, and his downfall. While reading, students have a choice of two graphic organizers to complete, a map activity, a timeline, and 12 academic and creative comprehension tasks (two involve images). The answers and a teacher information page are included. This would be great for a sub if given to students as a group learning packet!  ***UPDATED to include 16 supplemental questions.***

Sample questions include:
--Summarize the significance of the Concordat of 1801 for both Napoleon and the pope.
--Why did other European nations keep coming together to fight against Napoleon?
--How did Napoleon’s emphasis on nationalism backfire against him?
--Which event in Napoleon’s life does this political cartoon represent? Explain how you came to that conclusion. Write two captions for the image, one from Napoleon’s point of view and one from the point of view of people who were anti-Napoleon.
