Description

This Narrative Writing to Sources with bonus posters activity is wonderful for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. This fictional writing product is different from others, because it uses reading vocabulary to walk your students through the parts of the writing process. In addition to that, it will teach your kids how to create stories with the use of text, media, or interviews as sources to enhance their work. Use this in a whole group, small group, or centers . This easy to use resource, with differentiation suggestions, has the whole writing process and more. This is great in class or online digital resource. Use this with my An Introduction to Narrative Writing YouTube video. This resource will simplify writing and make the process easier and more enjoyable for your kids. This can be printed off or uploaded to your favorite digital platform. Embed the video so the kids can refer back whenever they need to. This writing process is classroom tested, and will improve your class' narrative writing.

This activity includes:

-a teacher's guide

This will take you day by day through the plan. It includes a QR code with the link to the instructional video.

-a "My Story Plan" page

This page helps kids quickly make a plan for what that want to be in the beginning, middle and end of their story. There are guiding questions in each part to remind them which story elements should be in each section.

-a notes page for organizing facts from their chosen sources.

This page is for organizing and it also explains why we research when writing a fictional piece.

-2 rough draft pages

Both pages are full of useful tips to remind them how to create a wonderful piece of narrative writing.

-2 final draft pages with helpful reminders to revise and edit

-4 posters

These posters tell what narrative writing is, tell how to write the beginning, middle, and end, and include which story elements should be in each section. Each poster has helpful graphics and student tips. Each is specific to narrative writing. Create a packet, upload it as a digital resource that the kids have access to, or put them all together as part of a larger writing display.

These are useful, ready to go, NON-WORKSHEET resources.
