Description
This activity is designed to challenge your students’ preconceived notions about their cellphone and music use in the classroom and during studying. Cellphones can be a great tool for the classroom. They can also be a horrible distraction from learning when misused. The following activity is designed to take two 50 min class periods. Students will start with an introduction video (this can be done whole class or individually) then they will work through 5 different articles examining the research on phone and music use in the classroom.
This activity is meant to help students with their critical thinking skills, identify quality resources, developing goals, self-evaluation/reflection, creating buy in or supporting your classroom electronic policy.
The product is in Word but can be upload into Google Docs to share out or into your schools learning management system (like Schoology) to distribute to your students as well as the old fashion method of paper and pencil.
