Sample questions include:
--Discuss the change in feelings Radical Republicans had towards Johnson in the first two paragraphs.
--How would having the old elite in power prevent freedmen from having the rights the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments afforded them? Give examples to support your answer.
--Why was Senator Ross described as a “sphinx?”
--What concession did Johnson give in return for not being removed from office?
--What does it imply that tickets were sold for the impeachment trial?
--Was this a turning point in Reconstruction, why or why not?
