President Zachary Taylor Interview Review Activity

Students complete an interview activity to review Taylor's presidency. They first answer 5 history based questions, then they "interview" Taylor after becoming president (5 questions and answers), and then they conduct his last interview prior to his death (6 questions and answers). The last task is a bonus creative opportunity. The answers are included where appropriate and this would work for a sub!

Sample questions include: 
--Discuss how Taylor came to national fame and how that led to his presidential nomination. Do you think he deserved the nomination, why or why not?
--Would Taylor have supported the Compromise of 1850 as it was enacted, why or why not? Cite evidence from the historical record to support your answer.
--What was the Clayton-Bulwer Treaty and what impact did it have on Taylor’s presidency?|
--If you could have given yourself one piece of advice on your way to your first inauguration what would it have been and why?
--What do you think will be your biggest challenge in achieving your goals?
