Description
Students will read excerpts from the 16th Amendment, 17th Amendment, 18th Amendment, and 19th Amendment and analyze 12 related images. They will then answer 14 questions and complete one creative task. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--In as few words as possible, identify the purpose of the 16th Amendment.
--Which political party had been advocating for direct election of senators for about 20 years, and why?
--Did the 17th Amendment make America more democratic, why or why not?
--Explain the history of the 18th Amendment’s journey from being an idea to an Amendment.
--Identify and explain 5 key moments and/or figures in the fight for women to get the right to vote from 1776–1920.
