The passage is written at a 5th grade reading level and is accompanied with eight multiple choice questions, photo analysis activity, vocabulary matching activity, one short constructed response, and one extended response. The objective of this activity is for students to be able to describe the effects of rationing and the changing role of women and African Americans. More specifically, “Rosie the Riveter” and the Tuskegee Airmen.
