Description

This listing features a full-page activity where students will use their classification skills to identify the simple machine(s) used in twenty-four everyday objects. I created this learning opportunity for my eighth grade physical science students.

Students will determine whether an object listed in the tables exemplifies an inclined plane, a wedge, a screw, a wheel & axle, a pulley, or a lever. I provided a word bank at the bottom of each page that lists the six classes of simple machines. I also included a key with the answers in red font.

This PDF file will become editable upon conversion to Microsoft Word using an Adobe Acrobat Reader DC app.

This activity complements the Simple Machines Classification Set #1 and 2 in my store.
The other simple machines identification table set features thirty-two objects for classification. The reason this table set has fewer objects is because several of them are compound machines that consist of multiple simple machines. I widened the cells in the tables to allow room for the additional answers.

The two activities are also available bundled together in my store for a 20% discount, in comparison to the prices of each sold separately.

I appreciate your interest. I offer dozens of quality field-tested, innovative, practical, and user-friendly products for different fields of science - biology, chemistry, field ecology, physical science, earth science, space science and human anatomy and physiology.
