Skokie Lesson Plan - Warm-Up, Movie Guide, Mini-Essay 

This is a lesson plan based on the Supreme Court case of the National Socialist Party of America v. Village of Skokie. This Supreme Court case dealt with the question of freedom of speech after Nazi's wanted to protest in the village of Skokie, Illinois, a city with a large Jewish population (with many citizens survivors of the Holocaust). In this lesson, students will complete a warm-up activity, watch the 1981 film titled Skokie, and write a mini-essay.

The film Skokie can be purchased on Amazon or viewed on YouTube.
