Description
In this fun, hands-on math challenge, students will follow the engineering design process to determine which shape is stronger- triangles or quadrilaterals.
Great project to tie together concepts and assess knowledge on classifying quadrilaterals and triangles.
Activity can be completed independently, with a partner, or in small groups. Activity can take 1 to 2 class periods.
My students had a blast trying to make their structure the strongest!
Includes worksheet for students to follow the engineering design process to brainstorm, plan, design, construct, test, and modify their structures. Rubric is also included that assess students on the knowledge of the shapes used in their structure, and how well they completed each step of the engineering design process.
