Updated in 2020 with more historic names, more than 40 leaders available, with forms to pre-fill, research, and guide group skits to re-enact moments and perspectives of American History.
Students will Get into groups of 3-4. Write a script for a scene involving your characters at a cafe for historic figures from 1850-1900. Discuss your characters and how they would interact with each other at a modern day cafe. Each member must speak at least 4 times during the scene about their personality, perspective, or interactions history. This is interactive and brings history to life in a fun way.
Students can bring a drink to share and consider how historic Americans impacted history, and paved the way for philosophy, invention, and accomplishment. This takes about one class period to prepare for research, and then some time to write and perform.
This document includes instructions, a rubric, and 35+ possible historical people to be in your scenes from 1800-1900. This is a no prep, print and ready exercise and activity for your classrooms.
