Description
Suicide Prevention units are more and more becoming required by districts for elementary grades. It's a scary subject to approach when talking to students from varying backgrounds and experiences with mental health.
This lesson plan is simple and to the point, without overexposing students to unnecessary information until they are ready.
This lesson covers what students need to know to listen for should a student make a comment related to suicide, and what to do next. The focus on this lesson however is for the general population and utilizing coping skills, so that when students do become overwhelmed, they can find positive ways to cope.
