There are 3 different activity options, based on a 1370 word reading with 8 different achievements of Ancient Sumer. Achievements include: Metalwork, the Wheel, the Plow, Sailboats, Medicine, Mathematics, Cuneiform, and Ziggurats.

Activity Option 1: Students complete the box chart by selecting 3 achievements, describing their importance to Sumerian society, and connecting these achievements to our world today.

Activity Option 2: Students complete a list & think chart where they describe Sumerian achievements and think about how they contributed to our world today.

(2 different versions provided for differentiation)

Activity Option 3: Students complete the match-up activity where they describe different Sumerian achievements and decide which one is most impressive/important.
