Description
This 90-minute lesson will help human anatomy and physiology students compare, contrast, locate and remember the major systemic veins. The activity houses two large tables that collectively feature 32 key veins and vein sets. It is the students’ mission to identify each capacitance vessel’s body region, the vessel(s) from which it receives blood and the vessel to which it transports blood. Students have the option of using the full-page word bank divvied by column header I provided – one side for each table.
This reinforcement lesson highlights the following major veins and vein sets: azygos, anterior tibial, axillary, basilic, brachial, brachiocephalic, cephalic, common iliac, digital, external iliac, external jugular, femoral, great saphenous, hepatic, inferior mesenteric, inferior vena cava, internal iliac, internal jugular, lumbar, median cubital, palmar venous arches, popliteal, portal, posterior tibial, radial, renal, splenic, subclavian, superior mesenteric, superior vena cava, ulnar and vertebral.
