Description
“Tecumseh’s Curse and the Zero Factor in Presidential Elections” Is a presentation that examines a so called “Curse” on the US Presidents elected during “zero” years. It is highly entertaining, and it is a good way to quickly cover the Presidents, but it takes some time to prep for. That’s why I have a lot of teacher notes to review . The interest and attention level is sky high in the classroom. They all want to know about Lincoln and Kennedy, but they are only part of the story here. A few links are provided. The Zero Factor legend has been taken to explain why all other presidents elected in zero years (1840, 1860, etc.) have passed away in office, with the exception of Ronald Reagan (who suffered an assassination attempt). Also, George W Bush made it through his 8 years after his 2000 election. Has the curse been stopped? Has modern medicine and technology defeat the curse? Let the kids decide.
A 52 slide presentation, lots of trivia, and aimed for 11th and 12th grade US History classes, but can be easily modified for most grade levels and learning levels.
A majority of slides have teacher notes . These can be printed out in note view.
As with all my presentations, this was used in class for over 20 years in various forms. This works-It keeps the kids interested and asking questions. Good One!
