Description
Students will analyze 23 documents (11 are images), answer 23 historical context questions, complete a sorting chart, and write a DBQ essay to review various aspects of Absolute Monarchies across Europe. There are 12 essay prompts for students to choose from (one allows for the class or teacher to make one of their own). The answers are included where appropriate and the initial analysis part would be great for a sub! ***Some of the sourcing is generalized so that students have to place it in the historical context/event themselves.***
Sample questions include:
--Summarize the limit Boussete sees to an absolute monarch’s power.
--Does Document 7 support an absolute monarchy, why or why not?
--Describe the historical context of Document 9.
--Identify a key cause of Document 12 and how it connects to the Age of Absolutism.
--Citing evidence from the text, how does Document 13 most convincingly support or oppose an absolute monarchy?
--Who is the “we” from Document 20 and what was the purpose of the document?
