The Early People of Texas Webquest and Sorting Chart Activity

Texas History students will read through 2 websites and complete a graphic organizer to review different Native American tribes of Texas such as the Karankawa, Kiowa, Comanche, Apache, Jumano, Tonkawa, Jornada, Tigua, Atakapa, Coahuiltecan, and Caddo. They will then answer 11 questions and complete an extension task. The graphic organizer is divided into Puebloan, Gulf, Plains, and Southeastern. 

The answers are included where appropriate so this would work for a sub! 

Sample questions include:
--Explain the nature of the relationship between Spanish and French explorers and the Karankawa.
--What replaced the atlal around 700 C.E. and how did it change life for its users?
--Summarize the terms of the Comanche Peace Treaty of 1785.
