The Mier y Teran Report Primary Source Analysis

Texas History students will read an excerpt of the Mier y Teran Report and excerpts of a letter Stephen Austin wrote in response, especially with regards to the Law of April 6, 1830. They will then answer 19 questions and complete 2 extension tasks. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! 

Sample questions include: 
--How did America factor into Teran's report?
--Identify the population mixture Teran observed and discuss whether that was positive or negative for Mexico.
--Which term reveals how the Texan colonists felt about Mexicans, and why?
--Were those living in the reaches of his land grant successful? Cite evidence from the text to support your answer.
--Rewrite this phrase in your own words to demonstrate understanding: fortitude to brave the dangers of savage foes.
--Based on the paragraph starting with "they have also greatly contributed," identify 4 characteristics that would accurately describe the original Anglo-American settlers to Texas.
