Description
Students will read and analyze two points of view on the Roosevelt Corollary by answering 23 questions and completing an extension task. They will also analyze 3 images according to two provided prompts. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!
Sample questions include:
--Does the historical context support the answers to the first two questions, why or why not?
--How does Roosevelt set Cuba apart?
--Rewrite the last paragraph in your own words to demonstrate understanding.
--Explain the connection made between imperialism and the Roosevelt Corollary.
--In what way(s) did Latin Americans see the Roosevelt Corollary as most diverging from the Monroe Doctrine?
--Which of Roosevelt’s points does the Latin American most and least effectively counter and why?
